Deposit Account

A deposit only account number works quite effectively. The idea is you set up your account number, and decide what percentages of money coming goes to what account. You then provide the number to anyone that “needs” your account number. Once a deposit is made, it is automatically moved out of the account, and directly into the accounts as defined by the customer. This means that the account is always at $0. If someone tries to withdraw money from this account number, they will be declined with “In Sufficient Funds”. This is again because this account is always at $0 with money being moved automatically by the bank.

This can also reduce the chance of scams affecting the customer. The customer can simply give the Deposit Only Account Number to anyone that wants the bank account number. Deposits works fine, but withdrawals are never accepted. This means a scammer, or anyone can not simply withdraw money from this account. For withdrawals, the customer will provide their actual account number.
